Al-Salihiya School in Deir Ezzor countryside faces overcrowding and lack of equipment

The only school in the town of Al-Salihiya in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor is facing increasing pressure, in light of the increase in the number of students following the return of residents to the area, as the school receives about 1,400 male and female students within a limited number of classrooms.

Students suffer from a clear lack of seats and basic equipment, which forces a number of them to continue their lessons by sitting on the floor inside the classrooms, in light of overcrowding that exacerbates the difficulty of the educational process and affects the school environment.

The school’s needs are not limited to seats, as it also suffers from a shortage of a number of infrastructure supplies, including doors, windows, and electrical panels, in addition to other needs related to educational supplies and equipment.

The residents are calling on the relevant authorities to work on rehabilitating and expanding the school, securing seats and basic equipment, and studying the possibility of establishing a new school in the town, in line with the continuous increase in the number of students and providing a suitable educational environment for them and the teaching staff.
