1,000 commercial trucks through Albukamal crossing since the beginning of the year

The Albukamal border crossing with Iraq has witnessed active commercial movement since the beginning of this year, as the number of commercial trucks that crossed the crossing until the end of August 2026 reached about 14,145 trucks, with a total load exceeding 460,000 tons of goods.

These figures reflect the importance of the Albukamal border crossing in trade exchange between Syria and Iraq, and its role in facilitating the flow of Syrian goods to foreign markets, in addition to the entry of goods and merchandise into the local market, and enhancing land transport with countries in the region.

The General Authority of Crossings and Customs continues to work on developing the port’s performance, by simplifying procedures and raising operational readiness, which contributes to accelerating the movement of trucks and goods, and enhancing the flow of trade exchange through the crossing.

Activating trade movement through Albukamal comes within the framework of enhancing the role of border crossings in supporting trade and land transport, and raising the efficiency of crossing operations between Syria and Iraq.
