Al Mayadeen City Council issued a warning to shop owners in the Vaulted Bazaar asking them to maintain their shops, remove rubble and waste, equip water and sewage networks inside the shops, and be present during maintenance work, while bearing responsibility for any risks or damages that may occur as a result of the work, including the possibility of walls or parts of buildings falling.

The Council explained that shop owners must implement what is required within a maximum period of one month from the date of issuance of the warning, in preparation for the start of market rehabilitation work during the near future.

The rehabilitation works are scheduled to include preparing the market ceilings, implementing lighting and sidewalk works, installing interlocks, in addition to implementing a sewage network, which will contribute to improving the market conditions and preparing it to receive shop owners and shoppers.
