The Health Services Syndicate of the Deir Ezzor Governorate Workers Union, in cooperation with the Health Care Department (Vaccine Division) in the Health Directorate, held an awareness seminar on the measles and rubella (MR) vaccine, in the presence of the head of the governorate workers union, Muhammad Nour Al-Hajj Othman, members of the executive office, and heads of union offices.
The head of the Vaccine Division in the Deir Ezzor Health Directorate, Imran Abdul Rajab, explained that the vaccination campaign against measles and rubella , which also includes the distribution of vitamin (A), is being implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and targets children between the ages of six months and five years in the Deir Ezzor and Husseiniya areas, regardless of the previous doses they have received.
Abdul Rajab explained that the campaign will start on Monday, July 27, and will continue until August 6, 2026, through 18 health centers, including 13 centers in the Deir Ezzor area and 5 centers in Al-Husseiniyah area, in addition to 70 mobile teams to ensure access to children in the various targeted areas.
The campaign aims to raise the level of vaccine coverage and enhance the prevention of measles and rubella patients, which will contribute to protecting children’s health and reducing the spread of communicable diseases.
