Teams from the Lighting Department of the Public Works Directorate of the Raqqa City Council continue to carry out lighting work at the southern entrance to the city towards Al-Alam Roundabout, as part of the ongoing preparations to open the new bridge and complete infrastructure development projects.
The crews completed the installation of 90 lighting devices with a capacity of 200 watts over a length of more than 1,500 metres, as part of a plan aimed at improving the level of public lighting, enhancing traffic safety, and giving a civilized appearance to one of the city’s most prominent entrances.
Technical teams are following up on the excavation work of the cable path feeding the lighting poles, in preparation for completing its connection to the electrical network and putting it into service in the coming days.
The lighting line is scheduled to be operational early next week, coinciding with the opening of the new bridge, which will contribute to improving the flow of traffic, raising the level of safety for road users, and supporting the service conditions in the city of Raqqa.
