The villages of the Al-Hawl countryside in Al-Hasakah Governorate witnessed popular protests, during which a number of residents set up tents in the middle of public roads and blocked a number of vital roads, in an escalation of protests demanding the improvement of the service and living conditions in the area.
The protesters raised demands related to developing basic services, especially in the health and living sectors, in addition to calling for addressing what they described as a flaw in the management of some service files.
The residents confirmed that these moves came as a result of their continued suffering from the decline in the level of services and the delay in responding to their demands.
The protests caused traffic disruption on some main roads, which affected transportation and trade in the area.
