The Euphrates Dam General Corporation announced the complete closure of spillway gate No. (6), as part of the operational measures taken to deal with the continued decline in water imports to the dam from the Turkish side.
The corporation explained that this step contributed to reducing water passes through the dam by 200 cubic meters per second, bringing the current total passes to about 900 cubic meters per second, while keeping one spillway gate open out of the spillway gates.
The Corporation confirmed that its technical and engineering teams continue to monitor the water and operational conditions around the clock, with the aim of ensuring efficient management of water resources and dealing with any developments that may occur in the water level or water imports.
The Corporation pointed out that technical readiness remains at its highest levels to take appropriate operational measures in accordance with developments in the water situation, in a way that ensures the safety of the dam facilities and maintains the stability of the water situation along the course of the Euphrates River.
