The machinery of the Soussa Municipal Council and the Al-Marashda Municipality began the work of re-reinforcing and rehabilitating the bridge linking the two villages in the countryside of the city of Albukamal, east of Deir Ezzor, after it was exposed to cracks and collapses as a result of the rise in the water level of the Euphrates River during the recent period.

The maintenance work comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the two municipalities to restart the bridge, which constitutes a vital path linking Soussa and Al-Marashda, and contributes to facilitating the movement of people, their mobility, and the transfer of their daily needs between the two villages.

The project supervisors reported that the work teams began implementing reinforcement and repair work on the damaged parts, with the aim of ensuring the safety of the bridge and returning it to service as soon as possible, after its damage caused traffic obstruction and difficulty for residents to move.

These works are part of local efforts to address the damage caused by the rising water level of the Euphrates River, and to preserve the infrastructure and basic services in the affected areas, which contributes to enhancing the stability of movement and mobility for the people in Albukamal countryside.
