The Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Deir Ezzor continued its humanitarian response to families affected by the Euphrates River flood, distributing food and health aid to 210 families in the Hawijat Sakr area adjacent to the river.

The aid included food and health packages and canned goods, with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross, with the aim of supporting families affected by the floods and meeting their basic needs under the current circumstances.

In a related context, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, with support from the German Red Cross, implemented health awareness sessions in shelters at Omar bin Al-Khattab and Kamal Asaad Kamal schools in the Al-Huwaiqah neighborhood, focusing on personal hygiene and methods of preventing diseases and infections, including lice.

Five hundred and twenty-nine people benefited from the awareness sessions, coinciding with the distribution of hygiene materials, soap and lice antagonists, as part of efforts aimed at promoting health practices and reducing risks associated with shelter conditions.

A source in the Syrian Arab Red Crescent confirmed that the humanitarian needs of families affected by the flood are still great and urgent, noting that efforts are continuing to provide support and assistance to the affected families.
