The General Corporation for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir Ezzor announced that it expects a temporary increase in the turbidity of drinking water in the coming days, as a result of the rise in the water level of the Euphrates River following the opening of dams with the aim of reducing water pressure.
The institution explained that the area is witnessing this situation for the first time in more than forty years, which has caused changes in the nature of the water coming into the pumping and treatment plants.
The institution stressed the continuation of the work of its technical staff around the clock to ensure the continued arrival of drinking water of the best possible quality, calling on the people to understand the current circumstances and cooperate in a way that serves the public interest.
