Units of the Engineering Brigades of the Ministry of Defense continue to carry out large-scale survey and clearing operations in the city of Tal Abyad and its countryside, north of Raqqa, with the aim of detecting and removing landmines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
Raqqa Governorate explained, through its official statements, that the operations included the main axes, agricultural roads, and residential areas west of the city, as part of plans to secure the liberated areas and enhance stability there.
These efforts aim to reduce the risks threatening the lives of civilians, create appropriate conditions for residents to return to their homes, and resume agricultural activity and normal life in the district.
In a related context, on March 31, the 72nd Division of the Engineering Regiment began dismantling more than 500 mines planted near the M4 road and the village ofAl-Jahbel in Raqqa countryside, as part of a campaign to remove the remnants of war and secure roads and vital areas, according to what the governorate announced.
