Al-Mayadeen City Council, east of Deir Ezzor, called on residents to commit to throwing waste in tightly sealed bags and placing it in suitable places that facilitate the access of sanitation workers, as part of efforts to limit the spread of random landfills within the city’s neighborhoods.
The Council commended the efforts of the cleaning teams that work daily, stressing the need for residents to support them in maintaining a clean and safe environment, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing the cleaning sector.
The city council explained that the random spread of waste negatively affects the health of residents and general appearance, especially with the return of residents after years of forced displacement, coinciding with the arrival of summer and rising temperatures, which increases environmental and health risks.
The Council stressed that addressing this phenomenon requires collective cooperation and commitment from everyone, which contributes to improving the service situation and maintaining the safety of society.
