The National Authority for Transitional Justice announced the visit of a joint delegation from it and the Ministry of Justice to the city of Deir-Ezzor , with the aim of facilitating access for victims and their families to the judicial process and receiving complaints and testimonies within transitional justice issues.
The Authority explained that during the visit, more than 60 testimonies were recorded, and the testimonies of victims related to those accused of committing serious crimes were heard, within files pending before the investigating judge responsible for transitional justice, where the testimonies were heard on behalf, which contributes to reducing the burdens of travel and costs for the people.
The Authority stressed that this step comes within the framework of bringing justice closer to victims and enhancing their participation in the litigation process, in addition to ensuring that cases are followed up in accordance with approved legal principles.
