The branch of the Syrian Grains Corporation in Raqqa Governorate announced the completion of its readiness to receive the wheat harvest season, by equipping 17 centers distributed throughout the governorate to receive the crop from farmers.
According to the corporation’s data, estimates of wheat production in Raqqa this year range between 500 and 600 thousand tons, while the currently available storage capacity amounts to about 120 thousand tons distributed over 10 metal silos.
In the context of enhancing the capacity, the Foundation explained that work is continuing to rehabilitate concrete silos in two different locations, with the aim of raising the storage capacity of each location to 50 thousand tons, which will contribute to accommodating larger quantities of the crop and supporting the strategic stock in the area.
The Foundation affirmed its keenness to facilitate marketing and receiving operations, ensuring the smooth flow of the season and supporting farmers in marketing their production.
