The city of Hasakah witnessed a noticeable spread of security checkpoints belonging to the SDF militia and traffic personnel, coinciding with the implementation of strict inspection measures on a number of main axes within the city.
The barriers were concentrated around the industrial roundabout and the fire department roundabout on the Marsho side, in addition to Al Hamamah roundabout, where vehicles, especially those with modern Syrian plates, were subjected to more stringent audits.
In this context, a number of residents expressed their dissatisfaction with these measures, pointing to the traffic congestion and bottlenecks they cause in vital streets, as well as their impact on their daily movement.
This comes amid calls to ease or organize measures to ensure security objectives are achieved without negatively impacting traffic within the city.
