The Internal Security Forces in Deir Ezzor Governorate carried out an expanded security campaign targeting drug trade and promotion networks in a number of the city’s neighborhoods.
The Teb Al-Joura neighborhood witnessed limited clashes during raids on the hideouts of a number of wanted persons, as part of security operations aimed at limiting the spread of this phenomenon.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of three drug dealers and promoters, in addition to the confiscation of quantities of narcotic substances that were prepared for promotion.
A security source explained in a statement to the Media Directorate in Deir Ezzor that this campaign comes within an ongoing plan aimed at drying up drug sources and enhancing stability in the governorate, stressing that the security forces will continue their measures against anyone who threatens the security and safety of society.
