Yesterday, Monday, April 13, 2026, the Internal Security Forces announced that they had dismantled and thwarted the activity of a criminal gang involved in carrying out robbery operations targeting a number of citizens in Abu Hamam area in Deir Ezzor countryside.
The Interior Ministry clarified in an official statement that the operation came after receiving several reports from residents about repeated looting incidents around the town, which required immediate action from the relevant authorities.
The security forces began investigation and information gathering operations, which resulted in identifying the gang members and monitoring their movements.
The Ministry added that after completing the legal procedures, an intensive security operation was carried out that resulted in the arrest of all gang members, namely: (A. A), (J. A), (H. S), (A. A), without recording any significant resistance.
The Ministry confirmed that the detainees were transferred to the competent authorities to complete investigations and take the necessary legal measures against them, in preparation for transferring them to the judiciary as per law.
