The Asayish forces in the city of Hasakah dismantled a number of its security checkpoints and removed their equipment, including surveillance cameras in some locations, in a remarkable move within the city.
The measures included dismantling the check-point located at the northern entrance to the city of Hasakah, which connects it to the cities of Derbasiyah and Tal Tamr, in addition to removing the international road check-point linking the cities of Amuda and Hasakah.
The concerned authorities did not issue official clarifications about the reasons for this step or its timing, while these measures raised questions among residents about their repercussions on the security reality and movement in the area.
