The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Deir Ezzor Governorate carried out intensive inspection tours of the city’s markets during the holy month of Ramadan, focusing in particular on shops selling broilers, against the backdrop of the noticeable rise in prices.
The campaign resulted in organizing a number of food seizures against violators, in addition to waxing 9 shops with red wax for violating the instructions and selling poultry at prices in excess of the specified price.
The Directorate stressed that these measures come within the framework of the efforts made to control markets and prevent cases of monopoly or exploitation, especially during the month of Ramadan, stressing the continuation of inspection tours and taking the necessary legal measures against any violation, in a way that ensures consumer protection and price stability.
