A number of civilians were injured with varying degrees of severity today in a traffic accident that occurred on the international road linking the cities of Deir Ezzor and Damascus, when a tourist car collided with a freight truck that was parked on the side of the road.
A correspondent for Deir Ezzor 24 said that a Santa Fe (Jeep) car collided with an Inter truck in the Hribsha area, located 48 km from Deir Ezzor city (after the Panorama roundabout).
The reporter explained that the truck was parked on the edge of the road after one of its wheels had a technical malfunction, which led to the tourist car colliding with it directly.
Following this, civil defense teams arrived at the site, where they evacuated the injured (the owners of the tourist vehicle) and transferred them to the National Hospital in Deir Ezzor to receive the necessary medical care.
It is noteworthy that the international road witnesses a recurrence of traffic accidents, often attributed to poor warning lighting for broken down cars or excessive speed.
