The Deir Ezzor Electricity Directorate announced that the General Electricity Corporation at the Ministry of Energy is currently carrying out necessary and urgent maintenance on the 230 kV line, which is the main feeder for the city of Deir Ezzor. The work aims to install a new high-voltage tower to replace the damaged one that had caused repeated outages on the line in recent weeks.
The directorate explained that these technical operations require temporarily shutting down the city’s main feeder line until maintenance is completed. This has led to reliance on the gas turbines in the al-Taym area, operating at limited capacities, which has affected the current electricity supply hours in both the city and the countryside.
The Deir Ezzor Electricity Directorate confirmed that work crews are operating at a high pace to complete the tasks, expecting maintenance to finish next week and operations to return to normal, ensuring improved network reliability and more stable electrical supply throughout the governorate.
The directorate expressed its gratitude to citizens for their understanding and patience during the maintenance period, stressing that these measures serve the public interest and aim to strengthen the long-term stability of the electrical system.
