The “Siraj” campaign team has begun implementing the second phase of its street lighting project in the city of Deir Ezzor, this time targeting the neighborhoods of Al-Hamidiyah and Al-Sheikh Yassin, in an effort to improve public lighting and ease residents’ suffering during nighttime hours.
In an exclusive statement to *DeirEzzor24 Network*, Ali Hassou, the general supervisor of the campaign, explained that the team has started installing 35 new lighting units in cooperation and coordination with the Directorate of Disasters and Emergencies and the *Al-Sharq* Foundation. He noted that the lights were distributed to ensure illumination of main streets and the darkest areas within the two targeted neighborhoods.
Hassou added that the work will not stop at this stage, as preparations are underway to continue installing lighting devices in other neighborhoods that suffer from weak public lighting. He emphasized that the campaign focuses on the areas most in need, based on priorities determined by field monitoring and follow-up teams.
The “Siraj” campaign comes as part of community efforts aimed at enhancing public safety and improving services in Deir Ezzor, amid wide public welcome from residents who view this initiative as a glimmer of hope for the return of normal life to their neighborhoods after years of hardship.
