Iraqi Defense Minister Thabit al-Abbasi revealed that he received a phone call from the U.S. Secretary of Defense ten days ago, during which he was informed of upcoming military operations in the region.

Al-Abbasi explained that the U.S. Defense Secretary confirmed the operations would take place on the Syrian side and requested that Iraqi factions not interfere in those operations.

The Iraqi minister added that his American counterpart warned him, saying: *“You know how the U.S. administration will respond if there is any interference.”*

These statements come amid rising regional tensions and increasing reports in recent days about American military movements in Syria.
