The Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Deir Ezzor Governorate held a meeting with representatives from Humanity & Inclusion (HI) to discuss the situation of persons with disabilities in the governorate and explore ways to support and integrate them into society.
The meeting was chaired by Ms. Salam Al-Ghadir, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Deir Ezzor. Participants reviewed the main challenges faced by people with disabilities, particularly in the fields of education, employment opportunities, and mobility, and discussed practical solutions to improve their living conditions.
The meeting also addressed the issue of landmines and war remnants and their direct impact on the lives of residents, especially persons with disabilities. The participants emphasized the importance of cooperation to mitigate these effects and raise community awareness.
The meeting concluded with a field visit by the organization’s representatives to Al-Noor Institute for the Blind, where they examined the educational services provided to individuals with visual impairments and discussed possibilities for supporting and developing these services in the future.
