Engineering units of the Syrian Arab Army carried out a series of specialized operations in various areas of the Deir Ezzor countryside, resulting in the dismantling of more than 5,000 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, in addition to the destruction of a large number of highly dangerous individual mines.
The operations covered strategic areas along the road connecting the cities of Deir Ezzor and Al-Mayadin, as well as fields in the Al-Bukamal area, and scattered locations in the deserts of Al-Mayadin and Al-Asharah. The engineering teams handled the mines with high professionalism.
Engineering personnel are currently continuing their efforts to completely clear the desert fields of mines, as part of a comprehensive plan to secure the liberated areas and facilitate the safe return of residents to their lands. This contributes to enhancing stability and reducing the risks that threaten civilians’ lives.
These measures are part of the ongoing efforts by units of the Syrian Arab Army to rehabilitate infrastructure and provide a suitable environment for civilian life in areas that have suffered from the impacts of terrorism and war.
