Recently opened establishments along the banks of the Euphrates River in the city of Deir Ezzor are providing dozens of job opportunities for young people and women.

A reporter from the DeirEzzor24 network stated that young people are working in these small restaurants and cafés in both day and night shifts. A significant number of women have also started working in the kitchens, preparing meals and drinks.

Ahmad Al-Muhaydi, the manager of one of the establishments, confirmed that they made an effort to hire women who are genuinely in need of work. Some of these women have developed their skills to the point where they now supervise meal preparation.

He added that the number of workers per shift ranges between 10 and 15 young men, with daily wages between 30,000 and 50,000 Syrian pounds for 8 hours of work.

One of the workers explained that he used to work as a delivery driver on a motorcycle, but preferred working at these riverside restaurants and cafés due to the stable working hours and guaranteed wages.

Dozens of restaurants and cafés have recently opened along the banks of the Euphrates River, most of which are owned by returnees from Turkey, while others are owned by investors from northern Syria.

The owners of these establishments are currently preparing enclosed halls in anticipation of the winter season, following a high turnout from locals and the return of leisure activities along the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor.
