Recently, several new tourist establishments have opened along the banks of the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor, in addition to others that have been restored and reopened, according to a report by DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our correspondent stated that these establishments which include rest areas, cafés, and restaurants are mainly concentrated along the riverbank in the city of Deir Ezzor, specifically on the Corniche Road and near the city’s suspension bridge.
With the opening of these venues, commercial activity has returned, and residents have started flocking to the Corniche Road until late at night.
Abdullah Al-Ahmad, who works at a rest stop along the Corniche, confirmed that life is returning to the area after it was cleaned and renovated by teams from the Civil Defense, the municipality, and technical services — which encouraged them to launch these projects in the area.
He added that dozens of families now visit the area daily until midnight for leisure, whereas it had previously been almost entirely deserted.
A total of 15 cafés and rest areas have been opened along the Euphrates, creating a competitive atmosphere among them, which has in turn led to lower prices for the benefit of the locals.
These establishments offer both hot and cold beverages, and some also serve fast food.
Their peak hours are from late afternoon until late at night, attracting both youth and families alike.
