A number of civilians were killed and injured as a result of the explosion of remnants of war in the provinces of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa over the past two days, according to DeirEzzor24 Network.
Our reporter said that four members of the Internal Security Forces were injured while attempting to dismantle an explosive device yesterday in the town of Al-Baghiliyah, west of Deir Ezzor. A young man was also killed when a landmine exploded while driving an agricultural tractor in the Ma’dan Atiq desert, west of the province.
Sources also reported that several members of a single family, including children, were killed and injured as a result of a landmine explosion while attempting to cross from areas controlled by the Syrian government to areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Raqqa province.
Mines and remnants of war pose the greatest threat to the people of eastern Syria, due to their widespread and unknown presence in various areas of the region.
