A child was killed and five others were injured on Wednesday evening when an unexploded warhead (a Dushka shell) exploded in the Al-Hamad Al-Ali neighborhood in the city of ؤ, east of Deir Ezzor, according to a reporter of DeirEzzor24.
Our reporter said that the explosion resulted in the death of the child, Haidar Akram Jadou’ Al-Badawi, and the injury of his brother, the child, Muhammad. The child, Mishaal Ahmed Jadou’ Al-Badawi, suffered the amputation of one of his hands, and Ahmed Zoba’ Al-Badawi and Nasser Zoba’ Al-Badawi were injured.
Our reporter added that hours before this incident, two people (Ahmed Adnan Al-Juma Al-Gharb and Ahmed Basil Al-Daghim) were killed by a landmine explosion near their home in the town of Al-Marei’iyah, east of Deir Ezzor..
Mines and other remnants of war are widespread in Deir Ezzor, left behind by Assad’s forces and Iranian-backed militias following the fall of the former regime. These mines have led to the deaths of dozens of Deir Ezzor residents since the liberation.
