Many residents of the city of Al-Mayadeen, east of Deir Ezzor, complain about the high prices of gas cylinders, as many of them are unable to purchase them, according to a reporter of DeirEzzor24 Network.
Mr. Khairy Al-Sayed told DeirEzzor24, the price of a gas cylinder before the fall of the Assad regime was 18,000 SYP on the smart card and the floors are in the hundreds and its availability is limited, and on the black market it is sold for 300,000 SYP.
He added, But now after the liberation, a gas cylinder price has jumped up to 230,000 SYP on the smart which is an expensive price. On the other hand, on the free market it is sold for 350,000 SYP.
Our reporter said that a large segment of the residents of Al-Mayadeen and its countryside have begun to fill the “gas stove” with diesel and use it for cooking, due to the decrease in the price of a liter of diesel in the past few days, despite the dangers that using the “gas stove” carries.
The residents of Al-Mayadeen and Deir Ezzor in general hope that the new administration will find solutions, in the near future, to the issue of the high cost of domestic gas, and reduce the dangers resulting from using alternatives.
