Recently, video clips of the most dangerous areas in the Deir Ezzor desert have spread, which were considered forbidden territory, where armed men on motorcycles and accompanied by pickup trucks are deployed.
A correspondent for Deir Ezzor 24 Network said that civilians went to collect truffles this week in areas that were red lines in previous years, and they roamed most of the desert areas without any appearance of the militants who were committing massacres against truffle collectors and blaming them on ISIS.
He added that an incident was recorded, a few days ago, when a group of ISIS militants stopped a civilian on a motorcycle in the desert searching for truffles, and after interrogating him, they released him without harming him, which confirms that the militants who appeared in the past years and committed massacres against truffle collectors are militants affiliated with the Iranian-backed militias.
It is noteworthy that during the residents’ tour of different locations in the Deir Ezzor desert, in search of truffles, a group found hundreds of sheep killed by members of the Iranian-backed militias.
