With the beginning of the truffle season in Deir Ezzor, the Deir Ezzor desert is still full of minefields that threaten the lives of civilians, according to a DeirEzzor24 Network reporter.
Our reporter said that most of the mines planted in the Deir Ezzor desert have become exposed after the rains, and need engineering teams to remove or disable them.
He added that civilians volunteered to collect mines in the desert of the western Deir Ezzor countryside, despite their limited experience, which also poses a danger to them.
Mine explosions have left many victims recently, in different areas of Deir Ezzor, amid appeals for the intervention of mine sweepers and experts in mine clearance to save people’s lives from a danger that constantly threatens them.
