The DeirEzzor24 network managed to get confirmed information, from private sources, about the existence of purchase contracts for the wheat crop from the SDF by the Assad regime, represented by the “Al-Qatirji” company.
The sources said the contracts included the supply of two hundred thousand tons of wheat in a down payment of $550 per ton, while the SDF would buy it for $310 from the farmers.
A few days ago, the Self-Administration set the price of wheat for the year 2024 at 31 cents per kilogram. After massive objections and protests, it refused to amend the price, leading the farmers to stop selling crops on strike.
