DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
Tension has dominated over several areas in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, for the third day in a row, represented by clashes between the SDF forces and its Deir Ezzor Military Council against the backdrop of the arrest of the council’s commander, Ahmed Al-Khubail, in Al-Hasakah last Sunday evening.
The people of the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor woke up to the news of the killing of four civilians in the village of Al-Daman in the northern countryside. In the early morning hours, a military convoy consisting of ten Humvees stormed the village of Daman, and they opened random fire in the village and stormed homes on its outskirts, killing a number of civilians.
The SDF announced its control over the town of Al-Izbah in the northern countryside and conducted search raids in the town’s homes at dawn today, in addition to setting up new checkpoints.
In the town of Abu Hamam in the Al-Shaitat region, east of Deir Ezzor, clashes took place between armed men from the Deir Ezzor Military Council and tribal fighters, and the SDF, at the “Al-Sanour” checkpoint since this morning, which ended with the checkpoint’s withdrawal.
The town of Al-Shuhail in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor also witnessed clashes that lasted for hours between the SDF and local fighters. These fighters issued a video statement saying that their carrying of weapons against the SDF came after the SDF targeted civilians, and not in support of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, as they claim.
And in the town of Al-Jardhi Al-Sharqi in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, a patrol from the SDF opened fire on a group of worshipers as they were leaving a mosque in the village after the noon prayer, which led to the killing of the teacher, “Muhammad Al-Kataf” and another person whose name was not mentioned, and the wounding of more than ten others.
Sporadic clashes are taking place in several areas in Deir Ezzor, in addition to blocking roads and protests by the people, amid mobilizations and reinforcements from the SDF to the regions of Deir Ezzor.
