DeirEzzor24 exclusive report:
DeirEzzor24 Network learned that the Deir Ezzor City Council, with the approval of the governor, Fadel Al-Najjar, leases all (large) public parks in Deir Ezzor by investment method to contractors who were not subject to public bidding and with consensual contracts.
DeirEzzor24 network correspondent said that this step came as a result of the governorate’s inability to rehabilitate those parks that form the city’s lungs, to become rented and confined to the affluent and well-off, after those parks will be converted into cafes, restaurants, and centers for organizing parties.
Most of these gardens were previously rehabilitated by the international organizations operating in the governorate, led by the “Habitat Organization” of the United Nations Human Settlements Program.
While work in these gardens includes replanting trees and green spaces, removing old cement floors and pouring new ones, in addition to installing external metal fences, sidewalks, entrances and planting basins, installing doors, benches and umbrellas, and providing them with solar panels for lighting and water sprinklers for watering
