In a remarkable development that did not happen in more than 5 years, the SDF advanced to the point of contact with Assad’s forces, which was more than 1 km away from its military points in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, according to the correspondent of DeirEzzor24 Network.
He said that the progress of the SDF in some areas took place without crossing the borders on the railway, as it set up points for it in the houses (al-Hawaweesh) in the town of Khasham Fawqani, east of Deir Ezzor, and raised its flags in the area extending to the west and towards the “Naft Tourist” club in the town of Marat Fawqani.
He added that this sudden advance of the SDF comes after two weeks of tension that reached the point of a clash between the militia of the Fifth Corps of the Russian division and members of the SDF on the outskirts of the towns of Jadid Akidat and Tabiyat Jazira, which led to the death of two members of both sides, followed by the withdrawal of some Russian forces from the Russian military bridge, which It connects the Jazira region with Al-Shamiya.
This progress is the first of its kind since the railway was chosen as a dividing line between Assad’s forces and SDF in the area extending from the town of Marat to Tabiya Jazira and the demarcation line separating the two parties more than 5 years ago.
