The Baath Party branch in Deir Ezzor forced all candidates for the local administration to submit a resignation letter on the candidacy, signed by the candidate, attached to the candidacy application, according to the correspondent of Deir Ezzor 24 network.
Our correspondent said that this procedure came at the end of the nomination stage, which took place in the governorate building in the city of Deir Ezzor, and it turned out that it was issued by the Central Committee to consult the candidates’ requests.
He added that the purpose of this procedure is to reject the applications of unwanted candidates who have security issues, or children wanted for compulsory service and expatriates outside the country.
It should be noted that the resignation letter will be submitted to the candidate whose application will be rejected, in the event of any objection to the results of the local elections.
