DeirEzzor24 network correspondent said that the security checkpoints in Deir Ezzor city and its western countryside are carrying out thorough searches on civilian mobiles in search of Rcell network chips, which have now covered large parts of the Assad regime-controlled areas in Deir Ezzor.
Our correspondent added that a good number of Deir Ezzor residents in Assad regime-controlled areas are using Rcell network chips, especially after placing coverage towers in the 7 km center and in the areas of the western Deir Ezzor countryside “east of the Euphrates”, due to the high speed 4G internet provided. Using this network is prohibited by the Assad regime because it is competing against the communication operators in its regions, “Syriatel” and “MTN”.
Despite the tightening of the system’s barriers and the checks and searches, so far, no arrest or arrest has been recorded on charges of possessing the Rcell network.
