DeirEzzor24 network learned, from private sources, the details of the arrest case of Sheikh “Muhanna Al-Fayyad”, the sheikh of the Al-Bosraya clan in Deir Ezzor.
According to the sources, a meeting was held a few days ago, which included major merchants in Syria, in the presence of “Hussam al-Qaterji” and “Hamsho”, with the aim of coming up with a new formula for managing oil smuggling crossings in Deir Ezzor. Oil smuggling crossings from areas east of the Euphrates controlled by SDF towards areas controlled by Assad’s forces.
The sources added that a few days after this meeting, a delegation representing Hamsho came to Deir Ezzor with a decision to assign Sheikh Jassem Al-Badr from the town of Al-Kubar in the western Deir Ezzor countryside to manage the oil business and its crossings with SDF in Deir Ezzor, and the militiamen of “Al-Qaterji” in Deir Ezzor were spared. MP “Madlool Al-Aziz” and Sheikh “Muhanna Al-Fayyad”, which prompted Sheikh “Muhanna” to kidnap the delegation of “Hamsho” from the Al-Bustan Hotel in Deir Ezzor, and during the operation a clash with the escort of the “delegation” with the gunmen of Sheikh “Muhanna Al-Fayyad”, which caused the injury of one of the drivers Al-Wafd, and there were reports of his death later.
As a result of this incident, the head of the security committee in Deir Ezzor issued orders to arrest “Al-Fayyad”, to be detained in the Vanguard camp in Deir Ezzor for one day, and transferred to Damascus on the second day.
And “Al-Fayyad” hails from the town of Al-Shamitieh in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and he is considered the sheikh of the Al-Busraya clan, which is scattered east and west of Deir Ezzor, and one of the most important loyalists of the Assad regime and its men in the region.
