Deir Ezzor 24 network learned from informed sources that the Russian Wagner militia has opened the doors to Syrians willing to join its ranks. confirming that the militia is not clear on the objectives of the recruits. Those wishing to join do not mind going to fight alongside Russia in Ukraine, if they will be paid 1000 USD a month.
An affiliate from Deir Ezzor province confirmed to DeirEzzor24 network that the number of affiliates reached 175 volunteers in one day, including two retired Syrian officers, at the headquarter of the 148th Brigade in the town of Maarshour in Hama.
Among the conditions of affiliation, the applicants should be between 30 to 40 years old, and not required for compulsory or reserve service or wanted by security.The volunteer must possess a non-employee document, a certificate of zero criminal charges and a status statement from the Recruitment Division.
The sources pointed out that approval of the affiliation request is guaranteed, as the volunteer receives it within a period ranging from 10 days to two weeks. The applications of volunteers are checked and studied in the Military Security Branch in each region, while health and sports tests and eye exams are considered formal matters.
An official in the Fifth Corps told DeirEzzor24 news network that the number of new volunteers surpassed 3,000 Syrians, including 400 from Deir Ezzor province, coinciding with the outbreak of the Russian war on Ukraine, stressing that the recruit will not be deployed to the fronts in Syria. The Russian militias are restricting volunteer contracts, according to the course of the war in Ukraine and according to its need for mercenaries.
