The Fourth Division entered the unmonitored investment line due to their strong influence in Deir Ezzor, taking control over two bakeries in the Al-Bukamal area, one in Al-Mayadin and another in Deir Ezzor.
The group invoked the legal investment by contracting with the Directorate of Bakeries in Deir Ezzor for a full year, which led to the termination of the bakeries’ contracts as a general government agency, and it appointed bread representatives belonging to the division.
These bakeries are not subject to the control of internal trade and consumer protection, as the quantities of flour, subsidized fuel oil, the weight of bread bundles and the number of loaves, in addition to the quality of bread, are tampered with.
The Fourth Division continues to extend its control over the largest number of bakeries, through the support of the Iranian militias, to appear as an implementing partner, while the militias hide behind the scenes.
