Daesh fighters launched an attack on an SDF self-defense military point on the shore of the Euphrates River in the island of Albu Shams “Al Shati Village” in the western Deir Ezzor countryside.
The attack resulted in the killing of an SDF member and two Daesh members. Grenades and RPGs were used in the attack, and two members blew themselves up with explosive belts at the site.
SDF forces cordoned off the area as a result of the attack, and began combing operations and searching for the injured for first aid.
Last Wednesday evening, Daesh sleeper cells carried out an attack on an SDF military post near the Euphrates River in Al-Shheel in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, using silenced weapons, which resulted in the killing of 5 members of the SDF.
Yesterday, Daesh also targeted an SDF checkpoint in the village of Al-Sabha, east of Deir Ezzor, in response to the events of Al-Hol camp.
