Deir Ezzor24 exclusive report:
The Hawaij Bousamaa river crossing in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, which connects Hawaij Diab and Bou Masaa, was closed due to clashes between smugglers from the family of Muhammad al-Musa and members of the SDF.
The clashes broke out following a raid by SDF elements on the family’s homes, as tons of sugar were found, which caused the elements to confiscate smuggling boats and seize the family’s money and gold during the house search, in addition to breaking electric power panels.
Traders and smugglers monopolize sugar and smuggle it to SDF-controlled areas, to take advantage of the price difference, as the Self-Rule Administration recently raised the price of sugar, citing the reason for the public interest, which led to the people’s discontent, increasing their living suffering and losing sugar from the markets.
