Clothing prices rise in Deir Ezzor markets as Eid al-Fitr approaches

As Eid al-Fitr approaches, clothing prices, especially children clothes, are rising in Deir Ezzor city markets as this time of the year is a trading season for merchants.

Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said that prices of children clothes increased significantly in the absence of oversight by the Trade and Consumer Protection Directorate, as the price of a child suit reached 55,000 Syrian pounds, jeans for about 18,000 Syrian pounds, and a child shirt for 8000 Syrian pounds.

This rise in clothing prices comes at a time the economic situation has been deteriorating in Assad regime-controlled areas of Deir Ezzor, where the average per capita income there is about 50,000 Syrian pounds, which is equivalent to nearly US $17.
