A source told the Deir Ezzor 24 Network that this noon the Assad Forces’ 4th Division raised the alert in the al-Shoula and al-Bishri mountainous areas in the southwestern Deir Ezzor badiya amidst three Russian Scorpion helicopters’ flying over the Deir Ezzor-Damascus-International Highway.
The source added that the reason for raising the alert is a large 4th Division convoy heading from the city of al-Dumaeir in Rif Dimashq to Deir Ezzor. The convoy included huge military trucks transporting tanks, 4×4 vehicles equipped with 12mm and 23 mm ground machine guns, buses full of members, and three ambulances.
Helicopters kept flying over the Damascus-Deir Ezzor Highway since the convoy left al-Dumaeir in order to protect it from Daesh attacks as Daesh cells are active in different areas along the highway.
