A source told Deir Ezzor 24 network that the Russian forces in Deir Ezzor arrested Ahmed al-Shihan, a commander of the National Defense Militia (NDF) in Deir Ezzor.
The source said that “al-Shihan” was arrested for smuggling narcotic pills from areas controlled by the SDF (east of the Euphrates), to areas controlled by Assad regime west of the Euphrates. The Russian military police arrested him at a checkpoint in Aiyash town west of Deir Ezzor, and then transferred him to a prison at Deir Ezzor military airport.
Drugs have increasingly spread in the areas controlled by Assad’s forces in Deir Ezzor, with the help of Iranian militias and the NDF militia, and the facilitation of Assad regime.
