A large military convoy of the 17th Division of Assad’s forces entered Al-Masrab town in the western Deir Ezzor countryside on Sunday, September 13, Deir Ezzor 24 network correspondent said.
According to the correspondent, the convoy set up four new checkpoints at the entrances of the town from the sides of the badiyah and “Al-Aaroodh” area, and combed the area around the new checkpoints.
The correspondent noted that the leaders of the convoy met with people in the town’s markets and made promises that they will restore security in the town after “terrorism has hit it”.
Unidentified gunmen launched several attacks on Al-Masrab town last month, killing a number of members and leaders of the militias affiliated with Assad forces.
