Regime cargo planes airdropped today six shipments containing food and fuel over the regime-held territories of Deir Ezzor.
‘’The shipments landed close to Panorama roundabout situated on the highway of Damascus- Deir Ezzor. They contain food baskets to be distributed by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to civilians in Deir Ezzor, and fuel for the regime forces fighting ISIS in the province’’. D24 correspondent in the regime-held areas of Deir Ezzor said today.
He added ‘’ A group of the regime-affiliated Red Arab Crescent received the food shipments which in most cases are transported and stocked in the regime-run stores in Al-Joura district, and then distributed to civilians in Al-Nahda center, which is operated by the Red Cresent in the regime-held Al-Qusour district of Deir Ezzor’’.
The regime-affiliated Red Crescent had distributed food baskets to displaced families in Al-Joura and Al-Qusour districts of Deir Ezzor. Food aids were also distributed to civilians living in the districts of Cinema Street, Al-Rushdiya, Kanamat, Al-Oradi and the old airport.
Food distribution included even Assad-regime forces, police and the security branches in Deir Ezzor. They received food through Red Crescent’s cards that had been given to them by the organization. The regime headquarters in Deir Ezzor also seized an enormous amount of food to feed their soldiers.
It should be pointed out that the distribution of food aid in Deir Ezzor has been halted for three days now as the Red Crescent waits for more aid shipments to be airdropped in order to resume its distribution of food to the remaining families in the districts of Al-Joura, Al-Qusour, Al-Jabaliya, Al-Omal, Sheikh Yassin, Al-Arafi and Al-Muwadafin. Some of the aid shipments that arrived today in Deir Ezzor will be distributed in the coming days to civilians in Al-Nahda center in the regime-held Al-Qusour district.
