Syrian Network for Human Rights has published a new report about five Syrian detainees who are currently held in Assad-run prisons, expressing its concern about their fate which remains unknown until now, and fearing that the regime might  soon secretly execute them. Among the five detainees are Sara al-Alwa from the province of Deir Ezzor.

Sara Khalid al-Alwa was born in the city of al-Bukamal in 1994, and was studying at the Faculty of Sharia in Damascus when Assad forces arrested her inside the campus of the faculty on Monday, 10 June 2013, and then was transferred to one of the regime’s security branches in the capital. Since her arrest, no one, including her family, have heard about her situation.

A while ago, Sarah appeared on a regime-run TV channel where she involuntary gave an interview about her practicing “sexual Jihad”, which is one of the regime’s favorite propaganda discourse that has been repeating since the beginning of the Syrian Revolution. The regime has broadcasted 14 interviews so far in which 14 Syrian girls were forced to repeat the same ideas Sara was told to say.
