Early on Wednesday morning, the Coalition executed air strikes on Al-Ashara Bridge, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside, leading to its total destruction. The targeted bridge is considered to be the last active bridge in the province of Deir Ezzor. It links between the banks of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside; the city of Al-Ishaara (south the Euphrates) and the village of Darnaj (north the river).

D24 correspondent in the eastern countryside said today that, “the bridge has been knocked out of commission following the air strikes, and it is difficult for Daesh to repair the damages caused to its middle part.”

The Coalition also targeted Al-Jahnah Bridge, north Deir Ezzor, today, causing no damages to it.

The destruction of Al-Ishaara Bridge comes after one day of the pulverization of strategic Al-Mayadin Bridge. Al-Bukamal Bridge and other agricultural bridges and routes in different areas of Deir Ezzor had been destroyed before.

The Coalition are attempting to cut off the Daesh’ supply routes by systematically targeting the bridges and routes in the province. However, civilians residing in the province remain the most severely affected by the air strikes, as all the roads between the banks of the river have been rendered out of service. This has paralyzed commerce between the areas located north and south the river. Civilians are now pushed to travel to the northern countryside of Raqqa from which they head towards Deir Ezzor in order to be able to reach one of the banks of the Euphrates.www
